Surprise: Beanie Baby!

We are expecting our own little Beanie Baby this spring! I'm filled with a million emotions and can't believe I'm going to be a mommy in just six months! Here is our bumpdate for Week 13!

Due Date | April 13th, 2015

Size | Baby is the size of a peach!

Feeling | I feel sick. I am hopeful that I am near the end of it though!

Workouts | Nope. Being super nauseous just doesn't mix well.

Weight | -5lbs. I'm sure I will start packing on the pounds soon!

Body | No tummy yet, although I swear it feels tighter at night (aka bloating). I've noticed that my joints, especially my back pop a lot more recently. Also, holy cow, my sense of smell is about x1000. I can smell everything, and usually that is not a good thing.
Clothing | Do my sweats count? I can't wait til I start feeling good enough to put together cute outfits everyday.

Sleep | I wake up once a night to visit the little girls room but that doesn't really bother me anymore. The thing that stresses me out is sleeping on my side. I am totally a back sleeper so trying to adjust leaves me achy and anxious.

Appetite | Strawberries, Bananas, Guacamole/Bean Dip and Steak. Mmmm. Pretty much all other meats and dinner foods are out the window. If I smell chicken or hamburger it makes me gag. Some how steak is still safe though.

Missing | Feeling normal. I just want to be able to do my regular activities without feeling sick. I had to take three breaks doing the dishes the other night. I also miss being able to do sweet things for Devin. I still try in the little ways that I can, but I loved when I felt good enough to come up with more surprises for him.

Best Moment of The Week | Having Devin stop by on his lunch break from work and bring me a brownie! Yum!

7/25 Weekend Getaway

This past weekend we went up to Park City to escape the heat and the stress of work and school. Friday night we cruised up after I got off work. We relaxed all night and watched Modern Family. Saturday morning we went on a gorgeous hike. From the look out point we could see all of Park City, from Kimball's Junction to Park City Mountain Resort. It was amazing to breathe the fresh air and admire all the greenery. Later that evening we ate huge enchiladas at El Chubasco and munched on the salsa bar. Finally we topped off the evening with Cold Stone.

Sunday morning we went to the Park City visitors ward then headed home and took a nap. All in all it was perfect. We spent the weekend eating delicious food, taking in nature and just enjoying being together.

Fourth of July

It's a family tradition to go to the Park City Parade on the Fourth. We sleep over at my grandma's condos in Park City, wake up, watch the parade, and barbeque. Every year is absolutely perfect. My favorite people, fun food and a great time to just celebrate life!

I am so incredibly lucky to have found this handsome man!
Isn't she lovely?
This maybe my favorite picture of the day. My sweet cousin Rylee was pulling the best faces and had all of us mesmerized. I can't wait until next year!

Weekend Recap 6/27-6/28

This weekend we headed up to my cute Grandma Sue's. She is the sweetest, most generous, loving person you will ever meet! Here are somethings we did with her this weekend!
  1. Friday night we went out to Applebee's! We all ordered the Steak and Shrimp. The flavor was amazing! I absolutely recommend it!
  2. She gave us our new Kitchen Aid!! YIPPEEEE! I am so excited to try it out.
  3. We made her homemade fudge at 11 o'clock at night because we were all craving it so much!
  4. We finished off the night playing our favorite card game...Five Crowns. I was the winner woohoo!
  5. Saturday morning we headed to the pool. I am such a fish! I lovelovelove the water. The three of us swam around in the pool for hours until we got hungry for brunch.
  6. Grandma continued spoiling us rotten and made us homemade buttermilk waffles, fried eggs, bacon and hash browns. We all gobbled them up until we were so full we thought we might explode.
  7. Finally we nestled into a food coma and all took a nap in the living room.
We were so sad when we had to leave Saturday evening. We can't wait to go back and party with her again! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful grandma. She is such a great example to me and every time I am around her I want to be better!

What did you do this weekend?

Easy Italian Pasta Salad

This week has been a heat wave! Utah weather is crazy. Last week it snows, this week it's 90...MAKE UP YOUR MIND! To combat the higher temperatures we decided to have dinner be oven free so we made this yummy pasta salad! I'm a sucker for pasta salads but I had never made my own (another testament of how easy this recipe is). You just chop, mix and eat. It is simple and delicious!

This recipe is for a huge bowl approximately 5 quarts - Great for parties or as a big healthy meal for the family!

1.  (2) 12 oz. boxes of Rotini Pasta
2. (2) Roma Tomatoes or 1 Large Tomato
3. (1) Cucumber
4. (1) Small head of brocolli
5. (20) Baby carrots
6. (1) 3.5 oz Package of Pepperoni
7. (1) 16 oz Bottle Zesty Italian Dressing

1. Cook pasta, drain and set aside to let cool.
2. Chop tomatoes, cucumber, broccoli, carrots and pepperoni into bite-size pieces.
3. Combine pasta, vegetables and pepperoni.
4. Add Italian Dressing (I used the full bottle, but start with half and work your way up to determine how much you like!)
5. Enjoy!

What are your favorite recipes to beat the heat?

Holy Moly! It has been a crazy couple weeks at our house! Here are a few of the big ch-ch-ch-changes that have been going on around here!
  1. I turned 22
  2. We found out Devin's parents are moving to Japan
  3. Madi Graduated from highschool
  4. My parents moved (from the town my family has lived in for five generations!)
  5. Devin started in a new area at work
And...I started a big girl job. I am working full-time and I am exhausted. I feel blessed to have been given this opportunity, but it has sucked away all of my energy and time. I am sure once I get used to working a full-time job again I will be okay, but for now all I want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep. So please excuse my absence as I try to adapt to all of these changes. At this point I am pretty much holding on for dear life.

P.S. On a totally unrelated note my tomato plant is growing like crazy! I found this little tomato this weekend and I am so excited!

Do you have any tips for adjusting to change? What was your first "big girl" job?

PCHS 2014 Graduation

Two weeks ago my sweet baby sister graduated from high school. It was so strange to reflect on my graduation on that same field a few years ago. After high school so much changes and the world opens up in ways you may have not thought imaginable. I am so excited for her to discover all the world has to offer. She is strong and beautiful and I am so proud of her!

My cute mom and me! (I wish had her gorgeous olive skin)
Dozier Field
Madi and her boy-toy Lucas
After graduation we went back to the condos and grilled up chicken and had a delicious BBQ. Dad is the master of the grill.
It was such a great day and I am so proud of Madi. I can't wait to see what she will accomplish next!
